Rimmel MAX The Volume Flash Mascara...

Hi everyone! So Boots are doing 3 for 2 on all cosmetics at the moment so of course I couldn't resist a little splurge. I have recently been loving the Maybelline The Falsies mascara but as I needed a new one I thought I would try a different brand.

I used to always use Rimmel mascaras as they were affordable and would give my lashes added length and volume. But if I am honest it was the bright pink packaging that caught my eye on this one!

This mascara basically does exactly what it says on the tin, adds loads of volume in a flash! I love the fibre brush and the consistency of the mascara, it's not too wet so it's easy to brush through the lashes. Nothing grates on me more than a wet, sticky mascara! It's long lasting and is also available in waterproof.

So if you are looking for a new mascara that also comes in pretty packaging then try this one out!

L'Oreal Nude Magique CC Cream...

So BB creams have been a bit of a beauty craze of late but to be honest I didn't really see what all the fuss was about. However I was doing a bit of shopping the other day and was browsing down a few beauty aisles and I noticed the latest offering from L'Oreal, a CC cream! I was instantly stumped as to what CC could stand for so I picked one up to have a look.

The L'Oreal Nude Magique CC Cream is a Colour Correcting beautifying cream which transforms into foundation. There are 3 CC Creams as part of this range: Anti-Redness, a green cream that helps neutralise redness on the skin. Anti-Dullness, a mauve cream that targets dull, yellow skin; and Anti-Fatigue, an apricot cream for tired-looking skin.

I have a very red undertone to my skin so I wanted to try out the anti-redness cream to see how it would work. At first I was surprised at how green the cream actually was and was a little dubious about putting it on to my skin. However once I had buffed it in using a stippling brush I was pleasantly surprised with the result. The cream had instantly turned into a feather light foundation and had neutralised the redness in my skin. My skin tone was even, I had a fresh dewy glow and I was happy with the amount of coverage. It is a very lightweight coverage so I did pop on a bit of concealer under my eyes just to cover any dark circles.

I also really like how other products look on top of this foundation. Sometimes when I use a cream blush it can remove the foundation underneath, but this somehow makes blusher & bronzer blend in seamlessly and really gives a fresh look.

However there is a slight downfall with this product, it isn't available in a range of colours for different skin tones. I am extremely pale so this cream is a little bit dark for me but I am sure it will look lovely when I have a bit of a summer glow in the warmer months. It's a product that I would definitely bring on holiday with me as it feels weightless on my skin, has SPF 12 and keeps my skin hydrated.

So all in all a very good little product from L'Oreal and I am keen to try out the other creams from the range. It's pretty affordable as well at £9.99 and available from Boots.

Have any of you guys tried out any CC creams? Let me know your thoughts below.

Illamasqua Cream Blush...

I am a bit of a fan of cream blushers and I have had this one from Illamasqua for a little while now and thought as Spring is nearly in full swing why not share this little beauty with you. This one is 'Promise' a gorgeous, bright pink which is warm and flattering for the cheeks

It is highly pigmented so you certainly don't need a lot. Add to the apple of your cheeks and blend upwards across the cheekbones for that just pinched flush of colour. I find using a small brush is the best way to apply this, something like the Real Techniques contour brush is perfect.

I love the consistency of this blusher, it almost feels like a gel or a serum which helps gives a dewy freshness and a radiance glow. I'm not the only one who loves these blushers, Tanya Burr & Pixiwoo are also big fans and often use an Illamasqua cream blush in their tutorials. In fact Sam Chapman recently used the colour Ravish in her recent Rachel Weisz tutorial.

So I will definitely be adding a few more colours to my collection. I think these are the perfect cream blushers for the summer months and ideal when you want to add a glow to your cheeks. Which colour do you recommend I purchase next?

Illamasqua blushers are available on the website www.illamasqua.com and are £18 each.

Bourjois Healthy Mix Gel Foundation...

So who agrees that shopping for the perfect foundation is probably one of the hardest things in the world? Well problem solved girls, as the Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation is definitely the best foundation I have tried in a long time.

For a start it smells really fresh, it's packed with vitamin rich fruits such as lychee, goji berries and pomegranate. Sounds like a delicious smoothie, so who wouldn't want to put that on their face! Plus the texture is really smooth and gives a medium to light coverage. I am really pale so I use shade 51.

It sinks into the skin like a face cream and is really easy to blend. For a flawless and even coverage I would recommend using a pointed foundation brush or a stippling brush to work it into the skin. My skin is really dry so this foundation is great for me. The consistency is more like a gel so it doesn't just sit on top of my skin unlike some other foundations. Instead it keeps skin looking fresh and really boosts my complexion. I know a lot of beauty gurus on YouTube also love this foundation so it seems to be ticking everyones boxes.

Bourjois have a great range of foundations for all skin types and best of all they are really affordable. Have you tried any Bourjois foundations?

Crown Brushes...

So I recently read Lily Pebbles blog post on Crown Brushes and thought they sounded so good that I had to order a couple of brushes for myself straight away. I have to be honest, I had never heard of these brushes before (pretty much my entire brush collection is Real Techniques) but Lily's fab review got me a little bit excited.

I checked out the site and was pleasantly surprised at how affordable the brushes were, I could have ordered the whole collection! However I opted for the C433 Pro Blending Fluff Brush, a very good dupe for the MAC 217 & at only £6.09, the C310 Fan Brush & the C405 Angle Contour Powder Brush which will be perfect for bronzer and powdered blush.

My 3 new brushes arrived today & I am so pleased with them. They are super soft & they feel & look really expensive. I will definitely be ordering a few more to add to my collection. If you are an aspiring makeup artist that's in need of good quality brushes at affordable prices then I would make sure you invest in a couple of these.
